I was at least as fascinated by the beautiful details of the steel this Iron Lady is made of.
She was built by Gustav Eiffel between 1887 and 1889 on the occasion of the 1889 World's Fair; the year of the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution.
We were lucky that it was a brilliantly clear day, so we had a fantastic view. What an impressive skyline Paris has these days.
At 312 metres, the Eiffel Tower is no longer the tallest building in Paris, but it is still impressive. And of course it is the symbol of the city. Whoever says "Paris" says "Eiffel Tower".
The open steel structure is stunning in all its industrial-looking beauty.
