About ‘Evening tranquillity over the valley’ by Marcel Hechler

During my evening walk through the vineyards near Roßwag, I came to the spot where the rows of vines give way on the hillside, opening up a view of the valley. The narrow grassy path leads downwards, and suddenly the whole expanse opens up: fields, a winding path stretching through the hollow, and beyond it the rolling hills in the evening mist.

On the right, the vines have already turned copper and orange; on the left, they still retain their green — both sides frame the view like a natural window. The sun was already low and veiled behind the hills, so that the light lay softly and subdued over the landscape.

What held me in that moment was the silence. No sharp contrasts, no glaring light — just that calm, almost wistful autumnal feeling of a day slowly drawing to a close.

As a portrait-format print, the image suits narrower walls well, whether in the bedroom, the hallway or a quiet reading nook. It brings a sense of space and serenity to a room without dominating it.
