This path winds past tall corn stalks in the Hageland. A hollow road, it is much lower than the fields next to it, due to years of cultivation by farmers.
For me, it immediately evokes memories of summer walks and of my childhood, where I played on the high sides of hollow roads.
The light falls filtered between the leaves, making the path at once inviting and mysterious.
During such a walk, I always feel the urge to go further, to see where the path leads. What comes after the bend? What can be seen when the high sides flatten and views return? What do we see from the shore?
It is a metaphor for curiosity and adventure, but also for peace and simplicity.
The landscape is both mundane and special, a place everyone knows but in which you discover something new every time.
