Flamingo Fabulous – Hand-drawn with acrylic markers on canvas

Painting 3 of a set of 3

With the Ladybirds series, I mainly wanted to give myself the freedom to go completely over the top. I love colour and bold imagery, so with this series I didn’t have to hold myself back.

The flamingo was the perfect starting point for this.
The large hat, the jewellery and the pose give it a theatrical quality whilst also lending it a very distinctive character.
And combined with the purple and pink colours, this flamingo now really has a ‘mean-girl vibe’.

I worked with acrylic markers on canvas, building up the feathers with lots of small lines whilst keeping the accessories graphic and clear. The plain pink background ensures that the character and the colours remain the focus.

The message of the Ladybird series? You can reinvent yourself, dress differently, be exuberant – or not at all.
Ultimately, it’s simply about being able to be yourself — in your own way.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
