A digital drawing of a kestrel "praying" in the sky. The background is a cool paper colour. Surrounding the bird are sketchy pencil strokes that give it a dynamic and playful effect. This is a male, and during my walks I regularly see a kestrel flying above the polder and praying as in this drawing. They are beautiful moments that I really enjoy. Kestrels can hover silently in the air by flying against the wind with rapidly moving wings and a spread tail. This is called 'praying'. While hovering silently in one spot, they look down in search of prey. Once they have found it, they dive for it.
