Was I ready for it? It is a magnificent animal, with a slightly grey undercolour and distinctive black stripes.
Night after night, I waited patiently in the same spot to capture this beautiful creature. Finally, I succeeded.

When I first got the animal in front of my lens, I didn't know what I saw. What a magnificent moment.
I thought to myself: what a privilege that I get to see this.

Now I can finally share it with you and try to recoup a small part of the costs incurred.
It probably won't succeed, but that's not the most important thing either.
Working on the genet cat fuels my passion to capture wildlife.

I aim for uninhibited, illustrious images of wild animals-images you don't just see.
This is not work where you mindlessly click away with your camera.
It takes time, preparation and patience. Each photograph is thoughtful and carefully crafted.

At the spot where this genet cat passed in the evening and at night, I also saw other solitary animals.
Yet they remain mysterious creatures.
As soon as they see a mouse or bird, they go after it at lightning speed. Then their whole attitude changes.
Suddenly you no longer see a cuddly animal, but a pure wild animal that is completely focused on survival.

The surrounding cork oaks and other majestic trees make the experience even more special.
These beautiful natural elements allowed the genet cat to search for food unhindered.

I captured these moments with the best equipment I could.
