About "Japanese art /The Big Wave in green and pink"

About the artwork

The Big Wave is one of the most famous woodblock prints. I painted it here with watercolour - a watercolour inspired by the Japanese prints Vincent van Gogh collected. He used these prints as inspiration for his paintings. The Japanese prints were printed with wood blocks. For each print, several wood colour blocks were made by the wood block cutter . Each block was then coated with a different colour of pigment and by printing the blocks on the paper to be printed one after the other exactly as they were drawn, the print was created. I have used watercolour paint here, a very different technique and medium from that used by the printers in Japan and by Vincent van Gogh . Van Gogh painted with oil paint, so it's really fun to see what you can do with water colours or also with another medium to give your own impression. It was difficult to get the white foam and also the white water splashes. I edited the watercolour with Photoshop in green and pink colours. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
