KLM Boeing 747-400M "City of Dubai" (PH-BFD) The Boeing 747-400 is the improved version of the Boeing 747-300 aircraft type. The first test flight took place on 29 April 1988, the first commercial flight was on 9 February 1989, operated by Northwest Airlines. It is the best-selling version of the Boeing 747. A total of 693 were built; only 81 of the 747-300 were sold. KLM used the 747-400 (fully equipped to carry passengers) and 747-400M (part passenger, part cargo). The PH-BFD is a 747-400M. If you look closely, you can see the large cargo door at the rear of the fuselage, to the left of the registration. This picture was taken on 11 April 2016 during take-off from Polderbaan.
