This konikh stallion runs with another stallion in nature reserve Solleveld between The Hague and Monster, Netherlands.
Solleveld is a vulnerable and special dune area and part of National Park Hollandse Duinen. The trees here are curved by the salty sea wind. The oak trees in the area are special, because nowhere else in the Netherlands are they so close to the sea. Solleveld also has open areas with heather and scrub. You will find many open areas with infiltration pools. The alternation between open and closed vegetation shows the character of Solleveld. Solleveld is only accessible with a day pass because of its special and fragile nature.
In Solleveld there are several grazing areas. These areas are indicated with information boards and can also be recognized by swing gates and cattle grids in the ground at the entrance. Here you can encounter Galloway cattle, Konik horses and Drentse heath sheep.
In addition, there are wild animals such as various birds and waterfowl, foxes, rabbits and hares.
