If you drive from Makkum along the Grutte Sylroede and follow the Kakeshoekpad, you can't go any further by car.
Where the water the Grutte Sylroede splits to two sides, there is a wooden bicycle bridge over the water that bends to the left, if you cross it you drive along the van Panhuyskanaal towards the Kanaalweg.
This photo was taken from that cycle bridge, the weather was very cloudy and sometimes a bit threatening, the sun sometimes shone brightly through the clouds. The church of Allingawier (near Makkum) is part of the tourist route "Aldfaers Erf" which goes through the villages of Exmorra, Allingawier, Ferwoude and Piaam.
I underexposed the photo a bit so that that threat came out a bit, I was lucky that a bird just came flying past in the right place in terms of composition.
