I enjoy drawing people in cafes and funny gestures like this appeal to me. A slice of lemon is beautifully translucent and smells nice and fresh. This work evokes the taste and smell of lemon for me, as well as the tingle it leaves on your tongue.
I hope the image evokes the mood of vintage posters. Although it is graphic in style, the patterns are hand-drawn, making the whole thing not too tight, but cheerful and informal.
The technique I use is ' paper cut,' or collage. So I manufacture my work from pieces of paper; coloured and patterned.
Geometric patterns and a graphic style fit well in a modern interior, but also go well with 50s furniture.
My work distinguishes itself by strong colours and clear shapes. I work with ecoline, ink and pencil, but I also like to cut and paste.
I get my inspiration from nature and like to daydream. Animals and people sometimes seem to melt together in these reveries.
