The leopard (Panthera pardus), also called panther, is a predator in the feline family (Felidae) that is common throughout much of Africa and Asia. The leopard is not a group animal, but lives solitary. They only seek each other out during the mating season. The leopard has a fixed territory, which it defends against conspecifics. This is marked with urine or faeces, as in many other animal species. Scratch marks are also left on trees. Males often have larger territories than females. Territories frequently overlap with the territories of animals of a different sex; animals of the same sex avoid each other. If there are places with lots of prey, territories are smaller; territories are larger with less game. https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luipaard
