The Westerheversand Leuchtturm is a lighthouse in Westerhever, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It was erected in 1908 and is one of northern Germany's most well-known lighthouses, a real tourist attraction.
Its cast iron tower rises to a height of 40 meters (130 feet).
Westerhever lighthouse, flanked by two former keepers' homes, stands majestically atop a sandbank.
It was created to direct shipping past the dangerous sandbanks off the Eiderstedt peninsula and into the Heverstrom, and is now a popular landmark.
There are 157 stairs in the red and white striped tower and panoramic views of the Eiderstedt peninsula and the islands off the North Sea coast may be seen from the summit.
