Long pepper - also known as "Piper longum" - not only fascinates me with its spicy-hot flavour with a sweetish note, but also with its sculptural appearance. In this picture, it is not lying on a plate in the traditional way, but resting on an old, bent spoon.
The elongated shapes are reminiscent of small pine cones, but a closer look reveals a world of texture: gnarled, cracked, marked by nature. The metallic surface of the spoon reflects a soft turquoise colour, while the background blurs into brown tones - creating depth and an almost mystical atmosphere.
A picture about the little things that are often overlooked in everyday life. In kitchens with character or a stylish restaurant, it unfolds its effect - as an aromatic reminder of the diversity of nature.
