Djemaa el Fna is the central square in the Marrakech.
Some of the older Moroccans also call it the Square of the Dead and Hanged, as it used to be used as an execution site, and the impaled heads of the condemned were displayed.
Today, the square is occupied by countless jugglers, storytellers, snake charmers with their cobras, fire eaters, musicians and acrobats. At the innumerable snack stands there is not only first-class but for us extraordinary food: In addition to kebabs, fish, vegetables and grilled skewers, there are snails and also grilled sheep's heads.
