In my garden, there are very small (about 2-4 cm high) mushrooms. If you don't pay attention, you are right on top of them. They are beautiful in colour and brighten up the lawn/moss nicely.
For this photo I proceeded as follows: I set up the flash on a base at some distance (about 80 cm) from the mushroom. The lens used was the Canon Macro EF 100mm f2.8 L IS USM placed on the Canon EOS R. The whole thing was on a Leofoto mini tripod, which was in the lowest position.
Using a bubble blower, I blew a bubble around the mushroom. This stayed whole for so long (at least 3-4 minutes), that I had time to make a nice composition. The trigger on the camera controlled the flash remotely, and to avoid motion blur, I also used a remote control.
This created this beautiful lighting effect.
All in all, a very nice and alienating effect. Nice detail is the little bubble created at the bottom of the mushroom.
