I am on the road for a client from Utrecht, on my way to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. My route leads past Soestdijk Palace, where the stately facade rises behind a field of roses in full bloom. The flowers form a colourful contrast against the dark sky gathering above the trees.
I await my visit, a moment of silence in a historic setting. The wind rustles through the leaves, while the palace seems to stand untouched and timeless. A place where history meets nature, while the first raindrops may not be long in coming. The image is in motion.
I dive, bend, crawl and jump to capture the perfect moment.
For more than 20 years, I have been out and about with my camera.
