Table mountains in Canyonlands NP, Utah
The Canyonlands in the vicinity of Moab in Utah (USA) became a National Park in 1964. The park is 1349 square kilometers in size.
The park is a still untouched area of canyons and table mountains carved out by the Colorado River, Green River and their tributaries in the Colorado plateau. It offers impressive views of the course of the Colorado River. The rivers divide the park into four districts: the Island in the Sky, the Needles, the Maze and the rivers themselves. This is Island in the Sky.
