Two young (juvenile) Common Kingfishers urge their father to catch more fish. Hungry as they are and having just flown out of the nest, they still depend on their parents to be fed.
Within a day or two, however, this will change. The parents will first give them some fish, luring them away from the nest as soon as possible. Then the young kingfishers will be presented with a fish but will not get it.
This forces them to go fishing themselves. Once they succeed, the young kingfishers are chased away to find their own territory.
Young kingfishers can be recognised by their brownish and downy underside, their still brown legs and the white tip of their bill.
This photo was taken with a Nikon Z8 camera with a Nikkor 180-600 lens. The background is nicely blurred in this photo, making a nice bokeh present. The beautiful branch then completes this photo.
This photo will be an eye-catcher on any wall!
