The columns and torii gallery of the Fushimi Inari shrine in Kyoto, Japan, is incredibly impressive. I was there in summer so the sun shone through the beams amazingly beautiful. It is a path leading up the mountain and especially the first part is a huge tourist attraction. I took the picture without people in it because they detract from this magical shrine. All gates, torii, are placed in homage to Inari, the Shinto god or spirit of agriculture (especially rice), trade and industry. In Japan, the Shinto religion is still alive and kicking. This long path is like a giant house of religion. That its special dimensions should impress you.
