Macro photograph of eight shells arranged side by side.
These are beautiful little snail shells with a pointed shape. These snails belong to the family Turritella. Many of these shells were found in the Erminger Turritellenplatte (a rock layer) near the town of Ulm in southern Germany.
The shape of this shell inspired me to take a photo of it with the shells alternating.
To emphasize the fossil character of these shells as well as the rock in which they are found, I placed the shells on a rough stone. The stone and the shells belong together.
I have emphasized the warm colors of the shells by converting the original photo (which is already entirely in orange-brown tones) to a deep warm brown tone. This color gives the photo even more of an old look and therefore a nice vintage atmosphere.
A photo with a nice quiet look, perfect as a resting point in your interior!
I see making art as a creative process.
