Historic Šibenik is a classic Dalmatian destination in many ways,. It is a city with two UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
A coastal city that has endured nearly a millennium of scorching temperatures, endured a few wars, been beaten by the waves and scourged by relentless winds, Šibenik remains as vibrant as ever.
First, the inhabitants are incredibly resilient, as no war or climatic event could stop them from saving their city and, if necessary, rebuilding it. Second, the entire city is made of stone, which of course helps a lot.
Šibenik consists of stone buildings, stone steps, rock cliffs, cobblestone streets and stone arches. It is built on rocks and built with rocks. Šibenik is a city of sun, sea and stone, a unique combination of features that make this city different from all others in Croatia.
Moreover, this proud city is the only one on the Croatian coast that was built by Croats - Split and Dubrovnik, for example, were founded by other cultures.
