About ‘Spoonbill with nesting material’ by Stephan Scheffer

The spoonbill (Platalea leucorodia) is a bird in the ibis and spoonbill family. The scientific name of the species was published in 1758.
The bird forages in wet meadows, near ditches, on mudflats and mudflats. Its food consists of fish, aquatic animals, snails, leeches, insects and worms, also occasionally plant parts.

Breeding occurs in colonies in marshes, floodplains, reedbeds and other inaccessible places. Spoonbills often nest in riparian forests along rivers. A nest is made of rushes, aquatic plants and grass. The clutch consists of three to five dull white eggs with brown spots. The average life expectancy is four to five years.
The spoonbill has a length of about 80 to 93 cm.The spoonbill is immediately recognisable by its spatula-shaped widened black bill at the tip, which is yellow at the front. The bird is white with yellow/light orange patches. The extended head feathers form a bushy crest.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
