Saxon Switzerland is the name given to the German part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in Saxony. The landscape, characterised by bizarre rock formations, lies south-east of Dresden on both sides of the Elbe in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains.
I was out and about here again before sunrise. The sun is just now appearing on the horizon - the rocks are still shrouded in mist. I watch the scenery from the Ferdinandstein.
