About the artwork
It's worth getting up early when you go on a mountain tour, even if it's difficult. Nature rewards you so richly with unforgettable moments and atmospheres. Like here in the Berchtesgaden National Park. The Watzmann with its famous east face is right opposite, catching the first rays of sunshine. The landscape comes to life, even if the flower meadow in the foreground, which frames the picture somewhat, is still in the shade, as are the alpine huts of the Gotzenalm, which can be seen in the left half of the picture. People must still be asleep down there.
I had already seen many pictures of the sunrise on the east face of the Watzmann, each one is different. Because every day is different, the mood is different, the light, the weather, the season. Nature is so diverse, it never gets boring.
Plus the overwhelming feeling of being alone. No one is out and about at this early hour. Later in the day, the hiking trails in the national park are very busy on such a beautiful summer's day. But at sunrise, it is still completely quiet. Only the birds and the wind can be heard. An unforgettable moment, captured in this picture.
