Sculpture in iron and oak wood, 1984
The work "Swabian Skull" is a sculpture made of oak wood and iron. It originated in the mid-eighties and has not lost its topicality due to its "Swabian" characteristics. The object itself is in private ownership. While looking at a photograph of the work, the idea arose to develop it further in a two-dimensional work.
Born and raised in Swabia, I believe I know my fellow countrymen well and therefore I allow myself, of course with a certain self-irony, to carry this characteristic head in this colorful print variant to the outside.
During my study period I worked mainly in stone, sometimes in wood. Figural and abstract. I learned to transfer graphic designs and sculptural models into large sculptures. A process of spatial prehension and its execution.
