Two girls are teaing underwater on old-fashioned stools at a round table. Meanwhile, a few fish swim by, while the water plants sway. Their hair wavers upward.
The inspiration for this work was a photo of two girls underwater applying lipstick. Their hair was short and I wanted to add more dynamism to the image.
The mood I wanted to set is that of cool underwater colors, serenity and slow, swaying motion. Mysterious how two girls met at a table underwater. Would they talk to each other and about what?
I hope this work conveys beauty and peace. I also hope that the forms have something of Art Nouveau about them. Femininity and nature are themes in much of my work, including this image.
The technique used for this work is mixed. It is a collage of colored paper with drawing elements. The whole thing has been post-processed in Photoshop.
For water lovers, nature lovers and people who appreciate feminine beauty, this is a work that would fit nicely into an interior.
My work distinguishes itself by strong colours and clear shapes. I work with ecoline, ink and pencil, but I also like to cut and paste.
I get my inspiration from nature and like to daydream. Animals and people sometimes seem to melt together in these reveries.
