About ‘The Alpspitze in winter light’ by Marcel Hechler

To me, the Alpspitze stands like a sentinel over the Wetterstein Mountains — rugged, clear, immovable. I took this photo in mid-January from the Kreuzjoch, during a two-day hiking tour through the snow-covered winter landscape. To the right, the Zugspitze looms into view; behind it, a heavy, cloudy sky is gathering, casting an almost ghostly light over the summit for a moment.

In the foreground lie dark mountain forests; on the slopes, snow alternates with exposed rock — if you look closely, you can spot the fine tracks the wind has drawn across the snowfields.

I kept the image in black and white because that’s exactly what the weather was like that day: cool, calm and powerful all at once. It conveys the sense of vastness and tranquillity you feel high up in the mountains. On a wall in a living or working space, it exudes a calm, elegant presence — perfect for minimalist, modern rooms that could do with a striking focal point.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
