A beekeeper holds up a window from his hive. There is a nice amount of honey on it. In the background, the honeycomb can be seen up close with two large bees. The inspiration for this work is my admiration for the beekeeper's craft. I think it is a profession that brings you close to nature and makes you relax. Moreover, it produces delicious honey! Furthermore, I am very committed to nature and am aware that bees are an important part of our ecosystem. The atmosphere I have tried to create is a warm feeling of cheerfulness and sunshine. Honey has a beautiful, golden colour that recalls the sun. This sun is obviously crucial for the flowers to bloom from which the bees extract nectar. The technique I used is that of collage. Consequently, the many hexagons I had to cut stuck in my retina for a while. If I then closed my eyes, I saw a mosaic of hexagons. I think this is a nice image for people who have an affinity with the beekeeper's profession or have a love for the bee and its role in our nature's existence.
