An old photo of Brienenoord Island showing the old bridge with access to the island. I was in Rotterdam Zuid to go to the Eiland van Brienenoord. The industrial look of the bridge the raw mooring posts. I wanted to take a photo of that. The history of the island is impressive. It has been a partial work island to make tunnel segments for the Rotterdam Metro, among others.
This photo is another reminder of how the island was before it was refurbished. I am always looking for ragged edges this was a nice one. The rawness of the island combined with the grey cloudy sky and bare trees betray a cold winter day.
