Reflections in Venice distort the familiar shapes of the city into a fascinating mosaic of colours and lines. The building facades are barely recognisable, their contours blurred in a mist of soft, overlapping hues - warm gold, deep blue, soft pink and the green of the water. The waves of the canal break the image into dynamic, irregular stripes that interweave and dissolve the reflections into unpredictable patterns. Small dots of light dance on the surface of the water, as if the city itself is breathing in the shimmering waves. This distorted reflection creates a sense of surreality, as if Venice were dissolving into a liquid dream world where reality and reflection can no longer be distinguished. The view of the city becomes an abstract, almost poetic composition of colour and movement.
