About "The power of a smile (Smiling old African grandmother woman with cooking apron)"

by Natalie Bruns

About the artwork

An elderly woman bursts into uncontrollable laughter. A moment of pure joie de vivre, captured in powerful, warm brushstrokes. The deep furrows in her face tell stories, her golden kerchief and apron glow like sunlight. Look closely: the paint is alive, like a dance of light and emotion. This work exudes warmth, optimism and the beauty of old age.

In an interior, this painting brings instant character and energy. It perfectly suits people who love colour, culture and life experience. People who are inspired by strength, humour and the timeless language of a genuine, sincere smile.

People have always intrigued me in all their diversity, strength and vulnerability. My travels to countries like Africa, Bali, Australia, Dubai and Nepal, among others, have also left a lasting impression. Every face I create carries something from that journey: a memory, an emotion, a story. Encounters with other cultures and customs have broadened my outlook and enriched my heart. Those experiences are the source of inspiration for this portrait, and for all the others.

The basis of this work was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI), which acted as a digital sketch assistant. The painting was brought to life with thick layers of acrylic paint, so that the portrait really seems to jump off the canvas.

Conceived by Natalie Bruns, visualized with AI.
