A bright green collar parakeet sits in the sun, atop a flowering white-pink prunus in the Cramwinckelplantsoen in Purmerend. Picking blossoms and letting them loose. That's what they do, after all. No idea why. But he was doing that and seemed to be looking at me. I don't know if he was really looking at me, the eyes are mainly on the side of the parakeet's head. The beak was often pointed at me though. Maybe he felt secure up there at the top of the tree. And maybe he thought he was unobtrusive, but with that orange-red bill and bright green plumage, he was quite visible.
The sun was shining, and some blue could also be seen here and there in the sky. The prunus was dense with blossom, so that necklace parakeet was still around for a while.
