The painting shows an abstract composition with a dominant, warm colour palette of earth tones. The outer edges of the painting are surrounded by intense, rust-brown structures that create a strong visual boundary. These edges appear weathered, almost like old walls or oxidised metal, with visible vertical scratch marks and relief-like textures that create a tangible depth.
My inspiration for this work was the idea of transience and traces of time. The rusty edges symbolise the influence of the past - something that has been drawn, worked and shaped. The central, lighter area, on the other hand, radiates a certain openness, a blank canvas that can be interpreted as a space for new possibilities. The fine blue accents stand for change, perhaps also for memories that still faintly shine through.
The atmosphere I wanted to create is calm, but full of history. The picture is intended to remind the viewer of transience, but also of the beauty that arises in the process of change. It invites you to think about your own traces - about what remains and what fades. The message is open: It is about the balance between past and future, between preserving and letting go.
