The painting shows an abstract composition dominated by soft, pastel-like green tones. The right-hand side of the painting radiates an almost misty, washed-out emptiness, while the left-hand side is interrupted by a vertical, structured line in intense yellow, orange and green tones. This line appears organic, almost like a weathered wall or a natural crack running through the surface. Fine splashes of colour and uneven colour gradients lend the work a certain rawness, while the soft background creates a calm, almost meditative atmosphere.
My inspiration for this painting was the interplay of structure and emptiness, of movement and stillness. The right, light-coloured area stands for expanse, for possibilities and perhaps even for a new beginning, while the darker, structured side reflects the memories or traces of time.
The atmosphere I wanted to create is calm, but at the same time full of tension. The image is meant to invite the viewer to engage with transitions and change. It conveys the feeling of a moment of pause - a point at which something transforms or at which a decision has to be made. The message is open: Is the border an obstacle or a bridge? That is in the eye of the beholder.
