Upper Antelope Canyon, after seeing the film 127 Hours, this place was high on my list to visit. After planning a road trip through Utah, it was finally here. I had booked a special photography tour well in advance because it can be very crowded here. With a group of 12 photographers, we were led through this canyon accompanied by a local guide.
Armed with tripod, camera and my favorite wide-angle lens, a 12mm Voigtländer, we were taken to the start of this breathtaking slot canyon. As it can get really narrow at times in this canyon, the plan was for six photographers to take a low position and the other six a high one, so that we all had a good view without anyone interfering in front of anyone else's camera.
The tricky thing about photographing in this canyon is the little and sometimes big difference between dark and light that was present. Therefore, I took 3 shots each time with different exposures (bracket) so that I could merge the shots at home into one shot with good exposure in the dark and light areas of the photo.
Because at home, I put a lot of time into post-processing my photos to make them suitable for your wall.
