Moddergat is a village in the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân, in the Dutch province of Friesland. It lies northeast of Nes and Oosternijkerk, northwest of Lioessens and west of Paesens. The village center lies on the seawall of the Wadden Sea. The village forms one community together with the village of Paesens, under the name Paesens-Moddergat.
