About ‘Witnesses of Time – Altschlossfelsen’ by Lex van Doorn

This impressive photograph shows the monumental Altschlossfelsen, a hidden natural wonder tucked away in the dense forests. The imposing red sandstone cliff face dominates the composition with its jagged textures, shaped by centuries of erosion, and its deep, warm earth tones. The Altschlossfelsen are captured in a captivating manner, with an eye for their monumental and historical character. On the left, a vibrant green canopy of deciduous trees provides a beautiful natural contrast, whilst the forest path at the foot of the rock formation invites the viewer on a visual journey of discovery. The subtle interplay of incoming sunlight and deep shadows creates a mystical, serene atmosphere in which the grandeur of nature becomes tangible. An atmospheric and timeless work of art that brings tranquillity, depth and a powerful natural dynamism to any interior.
