Here's an oak jay, at the very moment its eyes meet those of my photographer!
I'm also passionate about birdwatching, of which there are many in the area where I live. In fact, I'm lucky enough to live in the middle of a two-hectare wooded park in the mountains at an altitude of 700 metres.
It's a haven of peace that suits my artistic temperament perfectly, and it's a great place for birdwatching. Even my house, made of rough-hewn logs that I built myself as a wood-loving violin maker, fits naturally into this environment. The birds are very familiar with it and even nest in the roof, taking advantage of the structural timbers. I took this shot at the end of the day in the low light that is the essence of my chiaroscuro photos. You can see the surprise in the eyes of this beautiful bird, the oak jay.
