The very first painting during my time at Catch Utrecht that I made to my own liking.
Originally made entirely of wood, this is still visible on the side. Presumably the only half-timbered house in Utrecht, possibly dating back to the fourteenth century. In the seventeenth century the front was petrified and in the eighteenth century it got its current bell gable. An urban planner once exclaimed that it was a scandal that this small house had not yet been demolished, because it did not fit among all those so many taller buildings. Thoroughly restored in 1976 which created the current shop front. Since 2006, it has been home to jewellery shop Pracht.
