About ‘Beelitz-Heilstatten’ by Sidney van Aken
During the First and Second World Wars, the Beelitz Heilstätten served as a military hospital and sanatorium for sick and wounded soldiers. Among the approximately 17,500 convalescents who were accommodated at Beelitz between 1914 and 1918 were the soldier and later Reich Chancellor Adolf Hitler (9 October to 4 December 1916).
