Sometimes not much needs to be added. Nature does the work for me here. This gorge, deeply carved between sheer rock walls, tells its own story. The river far below us relentlessly makes its way through the Tazi Canyon in the Taurus Mountains. This fractured mountain range in southern Turkey stretches some 600 kilometres (source of these figures is Wikipedia).
From this high vantage point, you can see how the mist in the distance mutes the light and softens the colours. The word 'grandeur' is really appropriate here. I felt small and grateful to be able to enjoy this view. An excursion I wouldn't have wanted to miss and extra special because I was able to share this moment with my children.
