The cathedral square is one of the most important historical sites in Thuringia. Erfurt Cathedral, with roots dating back to the 8th century, together with the Severi Church, forms a defining ensemble of the city. The Christmas pyramid is part of Erfurt's Christmas market, which attracts numerous visitors every year.
My inspiration was to capture the combination of sacred architecture and popular Christmas tradition in a balanced image. The composition is characterised by the contrast between the delicate pyramid and the monumental church façade.
