The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was an American fighter aircraft of World War II. The prototype made its first flight on October 15, 1938, and the aircraft was used until the end of World War II. A total of 13,738 aircraft were produced until November 1944, at the Curtiss plant in Buffalo, New York.
