I created this ecoprint using wild sorrel and peachweed. Eco-printing is a technique where you let plants make a natural print on fabric. Using only natural pigments and a magic steam bath. Several natural pigments were used in this experiment. Sandalwood, which gives the warm orange colour and bluewood, which gives a hint of dark blue. The combination with the fresh green of the plant print makes this eco print very fairytale-like.
This is totally the mood of nature, of wild plants. Exactly what studio Crush on Nature stands for. Showing you how wonderfully beautiful wild plants are. On the sorrel you can find my favourite insects: the sorrel bug and the brown sorrel weevil. Super funny insects, take your time to look at them quietly.
Sorrel and peachwort can be found in some rougher roadsides, often near a ditch. When you get to know wild plants, a world opens up for you.
