This work may seem abstract but is a print of a Dutch wild plant: the five-fingered herb. With its long, red twigs crawling across the pavement, you can often find it along the edges of roadsides, even in the city! With studio Crush on Nature, I show the beauty of nearby nature, which we also call weeds.... This image was made in ecoprint technique. A special process in which I only use natural materials.
It is magical to see how in ecoprinting the plants imprint themselves on the fabric. In this case using the natural pigment bluewood. Just a little bit, so the colour shows itself mainly on one side of the print. The plants have lain between these two canvases, creating a beautiful reflection.
The light stripe pattern in the top right corner is an imprint of the binding thread used to tie the fabric together.
This natural image with special details fits very well in a sleek interior where a poetic image can add just a little more depth.
