My inspiration was to capture the special tranquillity of the old town in the run-up to Christmas - a moment without the hustle and bustle, but full of atmosphere. The decision to use black and white was deliberate, in order to draw attention to the lighting, lines and architectural details.
The picture conveys a quiet, almost timeless mood. It invites you to pause and feel the connection between history, season and space.
