The artwork shows an authentic view of Bamberg's old town centre. In the centre is the river, which flows calmly through the cityscape. Historic half-timbered houses with red roofs, whose architecture characterises the town, line the banks. Two boats - including an excursion boat - discreetly enliven the scene. In the background, a bridge spans the water, framed by other buildings. The sky is cloudy, which lends the depiction a reserved, almost pensive mood.
The inspiration for this work arose from my exploration of the tension between movement and permanence. I was interested in how the historical cityscape with the river as a connecting element could be depicted in a calm but lively composition.
The atmosphere is deliberately calm. The aim was to capture a moment that does not appear staged, but is everyday and therefore all the more tangible. The picture invites the viewer to focus on the details and feel the tranquillity of the moment.
In interior design, this work of art acts as a visual bridge between tradition and the present. It brings structure, depth and a cultural touch to the room - ideal for environments that value authenticity and history.
