On my way north on a group trip through Saudi Arabia, I took this photo. The puddle of water, the synchrony of the lampposts and the combining depth perspective of both the truck and the road slowly disappearing into the distance made me like this photo. That is also the nice thing about photography, you have to take the picture in the end, because in the lens you see the perfect picture yourself. Like all concepts that strive for perfection, this is nothing more than a small oasis in the wild sandpit of northwest Saudi Arabia. A quiet life filled with words and stories about passers-by on their way to Tabuk or further towards Jordan. The green Isuzu truck, which appears to be broken down or blowing off, is just one example of the many 2nd hand trucks or other cars that retire on these highways across the middle east.
