About ‘Husavik Harbour’ by Lex Schulte

The harbor of Husavik, Iceland, in the evening light. Húsavík is a small town in the municipality of Norðurþing in the north of Iceland on the east coast of the Skjálfandi bay. Húsavík means something like houses bay, and the name is already centuries old. The Swedish sailor Garðar Svavarsson, after being driven by a storm, died unexpectedly on the land about 875. He went to land, built an accommodation and stayed there for only one winter. He called this place Húsavík (see History of Iceland). There are approximately 2200 people (2013) in Húsavík. The income of the town comes mainly from fishing and tourism. In particular, watching whales from fishing boats on the high seas is an attraction. There is also a small amount of light industry. Húsavík has a wooden church, built in 1907, and according to many Icelanders it is the most beautiful wooden church in Iceland.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
